I wouldn’t recommend a 17-liter tank for a fancy goldfish. If your fantail is still young, you might get a couple months out of it, but eventually you’ll want to purchase at least a 76-liter aquarium (or 20 gallon tank). Your goldfish may even do fine in a 38 or 58-liter tank (10 or 15 gallons) if you simply don’t have the space for a larger aquarium right now, as long as you stay on top of water changes and water testing. Make sure you also have a good filtration system (I personally use power filters in my tanks, but canister filters are also very good). If your filter needs the extra help, you can even attach a sponge filter to the glass – these filters are really good at biological filtration. How long should the fish tank lights stay on for? We get this question frequently. A good range to aim for would be anywhere from 6 to 12 hours. Remember that fish like and need to rest just like other animals. Fish only setups could range from 6 to 12 hours, reef tank setups and freshwater planted aquariums could range from 10 to 12 hour photo periods. Leaving the lights on for longer time periods could contribute to nuisance algae growth (just one of the factors with algae growth), higher tank temperatures and quicker tank water evaporation. Be consistent and if you can afford it, invest in a light timer.Beginners are usually recommended to get starting with the best 20 gallon fish tank or aquarium kit with filter and LED lighting. With this tank size, the water quality doesn’t change too fast to poison the fish making it an ideal choice for starters, who don’t have much experience in solving aquarium problems. 20 gallon aquariums are available in various shapes and materials for you to choose. It can be a standard (high) or long, rectangle or half-moon shaped, and glass or acrylic tank.Showing you guys my 20 gal long Aqueon fish tank , with live plants , 4 guppies & a baby bristlenose pleco! :D let me know if you guys want me to maybe do this weekly? :o

For oxygen, we also have a dragon air stone bubbler thing lol .
I hope you guys enjoy my tank!Stay away from long, deep tanks. Goldfish are oxygen hogs and need the extra surface area in wide, horizontal setups. A wide surface area (the space at the top of the aquarium where water meets air) is crucial to keep oxygen levels up and carbon dioxide out. Long aquariums are also harder to work with, since you’ll have to reach far to move around ornaments or plants.
