I was told by someone that they feed fish flakes to their tadpoles.

Confused on how to check your fish for doneness? Just flake it with a fork! We'll show you how.

Scoop off the foam that rises to the top of the cooking liquid and discard. (This helps to keep the fish as white as possible when you flake it.)
The fish is cooked when it flakes apart easily, like so.

Flake is a term used in to indicate the flesh of any of several of small , particularly the . The term probably arose in the late 1920s when the large-scale commercial shark fishery off the coast of was established. Until that time, shark was generally an incidental catch rather than a targeted species. Keep stirring the fish until you end up with a finely flaked mass, that should look like this.

hinking about what to feed your goldfish? I bet you're thinking about goldfish flakes, as they are the common type of food recommended for aquarists today. Flakes and pellets are the most simple way to feed your goldfish.Let's face another harsh reality that people who eat junk food and nutrition bars are not the healthiest of people. I'm not saying they won't survive, but they will have unnecessary problems later. Just imagine goldfish flakes and pellets are as junk food and nutrition bars for people. Eating them too often, and they will have constipation problems and later develop the Swim Bladder disorder. Hamburgers are delicious, but if you make yourself a diet from eating them...You may not know this, but most successful goldfish aquarists rarely or never feed their fish pellets or flake food. Flakes may have lots of bulking agents, processed with minerals, vitamins and all your "goldfish needs". Did you ever get constipated for eating only dry food? And when you started eating fresh food like veggies and fruit, problems seem to go away. You can understand where I'm trying to go, don't you?Fish love varied diets and goldfish benefit from this rule. It's safe to say that flakes and pellets, considered daily goldfish food, have little or no fiber. Yes, that is true. Don't you think foods like Rice, Orange, Apple, Peas, Carrot, Corn, Banana, Pear, Cucumber, Lettuce, Spinach and many other can benefit your goldfish?Antiprotozoan: This is for treatment of protozoans like Hexamita and Spironucleus. Hi-Protein Flake is now used to make up the base formula for this flake. Fish that have been infected by protozoans have generally lost weight and are in need of the extra protein during their recovery period. It is most effective when combined with a heat treatment. Feed twice a day for six consecutive days. Feed no other food during this time.It is a good idea to get the fish accustomed to our flakes if you haven't been feeding them, before offering the medicated flake. The medication doesn't taste the best and many fish will ignore it, unless they are very accustomed to the base flake. We recommend you get the fish eating either our Freshwater Flake or The Works Flake very well, before attempting to feed the medicated flake. Making it a part of their diet for a couple feedings each week, will give you the best chance of getting your fish to eat the medicated flake vigorously.
