Hi! So I'm planning on getting a 5 gallon fish tank for my Betta. I'm also planning on setting up my own aquarium for him with live plants and have many questions. Where would I go to buy a plain 5 gallon tank. I've seen many aquarium kits but rarely any plain 5 gallon tanks online. I also have a few questions on live plants. Do I buy a specific substrate and simply plop the plants in there or do I have to wait for it to grow? After I added the plants, decor and other stuff for the tank I was suggested to let it 'cycle'. Does this mean I should just let it sit for a couple of days before adding my Betta? How would I go about cleaning the tank and doing water changes with live plants and decor present? Thank you for taking your time to read this!
This aquarium kit is marketed for Glofish, but it’s also a great tank for Bettas.

On purchase the kit includes the 5 Gallon fish tank, built in LED, small net, fish food, filtration mechanism and the aquarium guide. The tank canopy is another very betta specific component given the jumpy nature of this species.EcoQube aquarium is a great looking Betta fish tank with a plant on top, that comes in at 1.5 gallons. Althought it’s a great looking kit it is still a little smaller than we like to recommend. This Betta fish aquaponics kit can turn any standard 10 gallon tank into an aquaponic garden. It’s a perfect tool to grow natural herbs in your own home while exploring a natural living ecosystem.Speaking of interesting setups, this combination fish tank and planter is a novel solution for betta fish enthusiasts. The closed-loop system works via a symbiotic relationship where the plants clean the water and the fish waste feeds the plants. It’s a nifty little aquarium that will make an excellent conversation starter. Since there’s no filter, this is reserved for bettas only. Comes with everything you need to get started. For about one-fifth the price, you could try the kit for a similar effect, too.It appears the norm that fish tanks this size do not include the heater. Tropical fish such as betta’s require warm water and a submersible heater is one of the things you want to carry home with this kit.The stunning, bright white light that the LED’s emit produce a shimmering effect that is amazing to watch. It’s like watching the sun dancing on the sea floor. The energy efficient LED’s also shine a cool blue color that, when mixed with the white light, resembles a soothing moonlit glow. One of the most appealing features of the lighting system on this aquarium kit isn’t actually the light emitted, but rather the appearance of the fixture on the fish tank itself. Strange as it may sound to some, how the light is affixed is, and should be, taken into consideration when deciding on a new betta aquarium. Lighting fixtures for fish tanks can become really cumbersome to work around and unnecessarily frustrating. It is also easily removable, in case you were wondering. Some people like the look of the aquarium better without the LED light on top.
