One of the most beautiful saltwater fish that should be observed when you go is the gray angelfish, or Pomacanthus arcuatus. Snorkelers often find these friendly, curious fish following them around as they swim and explore. Slow moving and graceful fish, they are usually found among the coral reef environments at depths of 6 - 99 feet below the surface. While they do not school, are considered territorial and lead a solitary life, sometimes gray angelfish travel in pairs and have been known to keep the same mate for half of lives. Most have a lifespan of 5 - 12 years. They seem to be a little more aggressive when compared to other saltwater fish, but do not seem to be bothered by snorkelers. One of their most unique characteristics is that they make a moaning sound when recognizing one another!

You're unlikely to ever find a French angelfish alone. These creatures live, travel and even hunt in pairs. The fish form monogamous bonds that often last as long as both individuals are alive. In fact, they act as a team to vigorously defend their territory against neighboring pairs, . i have used Keral Direct twice and been fabulous ( trade as angelfish travel now). highly recommended for a personal and genuine service

Extremely good and knowledgeable service from Angelfish Travel again. Also very pleased with the long haul experience from Emirates especially the Airbus A380 which is very comfortable and the entertainment system is excellent as well as being able to charge phones, tablets etc via the USB socket. It was our eighth visit to the Maldives but our first to Angaga....We have just returned from 14 nights at Coco Bodu Hithi and I have to say what an excellent and enjoyable stay we had. We booked through Angelfish Travel who were nothing short of excellent. We originally booked to go to Makunudo but the island then decided to close for a period of time at short notice and so we...When gray angelfish are young, they look quite different from the adults. They begin their lives as black with five yellow stripes on the body and head and a yellow ring around their lips, but dramatically change to a lighter gray color as they mature. Their tails are square shaped and flow into a transparent rim. Younger gray angelfish love to clean parasites off of other fish. Our wonderful travel agent, Angelfish Travel, organised our amazing honeymoon to Sri Lanka (one week - absolutely unforgettable) and Kihaad in the Maldives (one week - truly amazing). We have visited other Maldivian islands but have found in Makunudu a little piece of Paradise where we are welcomed as old friends by the friendly and extremely efficient staff. We have booked our holidays through several travel agents over the years and this year we tried Maldives Direct (Angelfish Travel) as they had been very highly recommended by friends we had met on Makunudu. Angelfish lived up to their reputation and provided the best service we have had in our many travels combining a very good knowledge of the island, and the Maldives, with excellent organisation and communication with us.
The island itself remains a very simple, quiet island providing an oasis of calm where all your needs are met by cheerful and helpful staff. A Maldivian band called Out of Doors visits twice a week and plays original material and a range of other artists’ songs that are in keeping with the peaceful atmosphere.
The food is excellent, provided by a chef and his staff who manage to cater for all tastes; indeed, it is far too easy to eat too much.
Mention should also be made of the dive centre where all guests, whether divers or not, are made welcome and helped to identify fish and other creatures seen when snorkelling on the very good house reef. There are also many good dive sites within 30-40 minutes by dhoni and Antonio and Claudia are good, conscientious dive leaders.
Contrary to one comment about the front office service, we have always found this to be friendly and helpful, and usually possessing a great sense of humour.
We can strongly recommend Makunudu and Maldives Direct (Angelfish Travel); we shall certainly be booking with them soon for our fourteenth visit.
